To label “what I do” would be to put myself in a box, a shubox maybe- ok that was cheesy.
I’m an artist, writer, director, musician, pastor, – in no particular order. My wife Liz, son Cavin and I live in the Central Valley of California, where the tumbleweeds roll next to the waving alfalfa. Cali is our original home, but we have left huge chunks of our Pu’uwai in Hawaii where we lived and served as school teachers and church planters (Elevate Church) for three years- A hui hou.
We came back to the mainland (2007) because God woke me up in college (1995-1999) and introduced me to worship. Not my parent’s worship, not my grandparent’s worship, but His worship as He wanted me to see it. He told me that I was to be a pastor, but not the traditional kind- something more artsy. I was cool with that- like I had a choice. As of January (2008), I am the pastor of worship arts at Yosemite Church in Merced- it took a while to to get here, maybe I had a lot to learn, maybe I was pigheaded, but who’s counting?
